Description: I the opportunity to purchase this book from a member of the James Walker Tufts family in Pinehurst, NC. His grandson, Richard Tufts was a heavyweight of the 20th century golfing establishment and lived in Pinehurst until his passing in 1980. I had the joyful opportunity to view and purchase items from the estates of the Tufts. Richard left handwritten notes in this book, that critiqued "The Links" and the course at Pinehurst. Richard's handwritten notes will be included with this sale of this book. There are many photos and diagrams. No rips, tears, or markings on any written pages. Normal foxing. The binding is in excellent condition. On the inside cover, 400 cut? 9/26 is written in pencil. There are photos of the thin rice paper. Please view all photos. Because of lighting, the photos do not give justice to the beauty and condition of the book.
