SHIPPING WILL BE REISTERED MAIL WORLDWIDE ALL TAXES ARE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER The miraculous icon of Panagia Esfagmeni, is a 14th century fresco and is located in the narthex of the chapel of Agios Dimitrios, which is integrated into the Catholicon of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi.The story about Panagia Esphagmeni states that she was wounded by the knife of a clumsy hierodeacon and ecclesiarch (curator of the church, neokoro), who allegedly because of his ministry always arrived late at the Bank. In a similar case the waiter (responsible for the dining room) indignantly refused to give him food. The agitated and angry calculations of the church leader turned against the Virgin, who while he served her, she did not even provide for his food. Blood spewed out from this wound, the face of the Virgin Mary turned pale, while the hierodeacon became paralyzed and fell down, maddened by the control of consciousness, remaining in this state for three years. Then thanks to the prayers of the abbot and the brotherhood the Virgin Mary appeared to the abbot and announced his cure. The church leader spent the rest of his life in a pew facing the icon enthroning his terrible sin and before he died he received forgiveness from the Virgin Mary herself, who announced to him, as before and to the abbot, that his blasphemous hand would remain exemplary punishment after death. In fact, to this day it is kept unsolved and in black near the icon that is placed in the narthex of the chapel of Agios Dimitrios.
