Antique Hand-Beaten Sterling Silver Galleon Bookmark (4”)

Description: Sterling Silver Bookmark Click image to enlarge Description This unusual, collectible bookmark is made from sterling silver. The terminal is in the form of a galleon with detailing to both sides and the blade has a hand-beaten (planished) finish. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1937 with the maker’s mark of Joseph Cook & Son. This piece is in lovely condition with no dents and the detailing to the ship is nice and clear. It has clearly been used so there are some very minor kinks to the edges of the blades but they’re not very noticeable and the blades are still hold paper tightly. Please be aware that, after 89 years, there will be some fine surface abrasions caused through handling.
