Description: Stunning and collectible Antique Haviland & Co LIMOGES France Hand Painted Cabinet Plate. Features beautiful portrait of a woman with a shell. It appears that she is listening to sound of the shell. The plate is hand painted and signed by known Limoges paonyer Antoine Soustre. The plate features scalloped, elaborated rims, heavily gilded with blue enamel accents and delicate golden filigree. Condition: no cracks; chips or repairs noted. Minor wear to decorations and use related marks. Minor use related wear on the foot/underside. One scratch on the bottom part, under the painting. All imperfections correspond with age. Please see pictures for more details. Measures 9” in diameter. Marked on the underside with Haviland Limoges France green mark used on Limoges blanks around 1888-1896. It is also marked with gold Limoges Haviland mark. There is also writing in red “L’Ouie?” The foot is also gilded. It is a beautiful and rare plate that will make a wonderful addition to any collection! PLEASE NOTE: Please inspect pictures in my listings as they are part of the description.
