This necklace needs a good cleaning and polish which I leave to the new owner. Otherwise, it's in terrific condition. It is different from similar charms in age, design details, refined font, and added gold wash. The box chain measures 18 inches long, which holds a decorative bale and HOLY BIBLE, measuring 1 inch tall by just under 1 inch wide by 1/8 of an inch thick. The bale is marked, ‘925’. The chain has a spring ring clasp that works perfectly and is marked, ‘BR’ on the end link. The font on the pages of this HOLY BIBLE is large enough to read The Lord’s Prayer, which spans both covers and 2 pages. The cover and pages are easily turned on a piano-hinged spine and can be shut tight with a tiny latch. Mechanical charms are getting hard to find because handmade pieces like them have been replaced with simpler charms, manufactured in quantity by more cost-effective modern machinery.
