Description: This antique Austro-Hungarian pin/brooch is a stunning piece of jewelry made of 800 silver with faint remnants of a gold wash still visible. The style of this brooch is renaissance revival , which is evident in the intricate setting of the six garnet and pearl gemstones that adorn it. The blister pearl in the center adds a beautiful focal point and elegance to the brooch. Measuring approximately 1.25 inches by 1.5 inches (including dangle), and weighing approximately 5 grams, this beautiful piece is a fine addition to any jewelry collection. The 4 main garnet stones measure +/- 3.9 mm, the teardrop measures +/- 5.6 mm by 6.4 mm. When viewed under a microscope, the stones are unevenly cut, show inclusions and have scratches to the surface. The center blister pearl measures +/- 6.4 mm. None of the stones were lab tested. The item(s) are antique and sold as is/as found. The item(s) may show wear, fading, scratches, repairs, restoration, losses, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. In particular, I note that the clasp on reverse appears to be a replacement of the original, and edges/surfaces of garnets show wear under a microscope as shown in photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
