Description: Antique LAMBERTON MADDOCK POTTERY Set of 6 Footed Cream Soup Bowls. Double Handled with 5¼" Bowl Mouth, 3¼" diameter Raised Base. From Handle to Handle, measure 7". Clean and Complete. None broken, cracked or chipped. All Bright and Shiny. Colorful Pink and Green Floral design repeating around the inside Rim of each Bowl, as well as the complete exterior circumference. Gilt trimmed around the top of each Rim, as well as on the Handles and Embellishments along exterior of sides between each Decorative Floral Panel. Some do show wear to Gilt trim, but no fading, staining, discoloration. Some very light utensil marks can be seen at bottom of Bowls when held under proper lighting. Underside indicates these were made by Maddock Pottery ("M" in a Shield, under a Crown and within a Wreath) in their "LAMBERTON" Line. Also states: "MADE EXPRESSLY FOR MARSHALL FIELD & COMPANY". To narrrow the date of production, the Lamberton Pottery Works was acquired by Maddock Pottery Co in 1893, using the same facility in South Trenton, New Jersey. It used the Lamberton name on many of its China products, such as these Cream Soup Bowls. However, Maddock Pottery ceased to exist in 1923 when acquired by the Scammel China Company. Marshall Field was founded in the 1800's. These Cream Soup Bowls had to have been produced for Marshall Field by Maddock between 1893 -1923.
