Description: Free USA & Canada Tracked shipping for this antique large size Beaver fruit jar. It measures approximately 9 inches high with lid and all by 4½ inches in diameter at the base. The glass is in excellent shiny condition with no cracks but it does have a small side lip chip which is hidden by the zinc collar and probably made during its fabrication as it has a ground lip. It also has some surface cloudiness but only on the back (pictured), some very slight surface scratches and wear; mentioned for accuracy and also pictured. It has been irradiated to give it its beautiful deep purple/plum color (an artificial process that turns antique clear glass in a beautiful deep amethyst/purple/plum colored glass, it is about the equivalent of decades of glass overexposure to the ultra violet rays of the sun; the manganese which is one of the key ingredients that they used to take to get clear glass prior to 1910 reacts and becomes dark amethyst/purple in color, actually very few fruit jars have manganese in them and most are over 100 years old. Please take note that the color is not flashed on the glass nor applied, it is derived from the natural chemicals in the glass.). It comes with a nice purple colored glass lid which is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Taxes are applicable to all Canadian buyers, some US buyers are also subject to applicable taxes depending in which State you live in; please buy accordingly. All other countries are tax free! Overseas buyers will pay actual shipping charges, don't hesitate to ask a quote before bidding. Please, do NOT buy/bid if you do not intend to pay.
