Description: Offered for sale is a antique LF&C (Landers, Frary & Clark) folding gentleman's pen knife, made in New Britain, Connecticut, USA, probably ca. 1920s. LF&C was founded in 1862 and manufactured pocket knives stamped "Universal" between 1900 and 1930. This knife features two carbon steel pen blades, nickel silver bolsters and brass liners, and mother of pearl handle scales. Length closed is approximately 3-1/8". Both blades are tang stamped "LF&C,N.B. Conn, U.S.A." and the larger blade is tang stamped "Universal" lengthwise down the blade. The knife is in very good condition overall, showing signs of normal pocket carry. The blades appear to be 97% intact, and show some minor pitting throughout. Both blades "walk and talk" and have a very slight wobble when opened fully. This knife is very well made and will provide many more years of service with proper care.
