Description: Rare and gorgeous Antique pierced octagonal plate by Max Roesler - Dresden. The plate features octagonal shape, pierced heavily gilded rims with relief floral gilded garlands, large fully hand painted basket of roses in the center. Measures: 9.5” or 9.75” if measured across the corners. Condition: I haven’t noticed major chips, repairs or cracks just rough areas along the rims and pierced areas. Faint crazing throughout and minor stains. Please note that the plate is not made of hard paste porcelain but rather similar to sort paste or earthenware. There are production related imperfections and typical for these types of wares wear flaws and minor scabs. Some wear to gilt and some patina on the gilded areas. Wear on the underside. Please see pictures for additional info. Pictures are part of the description. Typical use related marks and scratches. Hand wash only! Crazing more noticeable when the plate is wet. It fades when it dries out. Marked with the impressed studio mark that is often hard to read. The mark was used by the studio late 1800th. It’s a rare, wonderful and beautiful piece that will make a great addition to any collection.
