Description: Representing: A collector's bronze statue of a lying German Shepherd with flutist A sought after artist, Maximillien Fiot (French, 1886 ~1953) was born in Le Grand-Pressigny, France January 22nd 1886, pupil of the French sculptor Prosper Lecourtier. This is a wonderful bronze statue done as a collaboration by Maximilien Fiot and L.F. Moreau. This is titled Meilleurs Amis, meaning Best Friends. I can find examples of this with a girl and the dog,and have seen articles referring to this as a set, 1 with a girl 1 with a boy as this one is,but I found no photograph examples of this piece. Its in beautiful condition with great patina. 9 1/2" tall with a 4 1/4" x 3 1/2" base and weighs over 4 1/2 pounds!
