Description: Up for bid is an antique Pittsburgh reverse and obverse painted lamp. The 18" chipped ice shade is reverse and obverse painted with a beautiful scene of a shepherd with his flock of sheep at sunset. The shade is free of any chips, cracks or repairs. This shade sits on a signed Pittsburgh base and is signed on the weight plate P.L.B. & G. CO 1797. The lamp is 25" to the top of the finial and is equipped with 3 original Arrow pull chain sockets It is in working condition, wear commensurate with age. It has been rewired at sometime with a brown cloth period cord and old plug. This is a large lamp and this is considered with the shipping cost and I will use the shipper of my choice. Good Luck!! 479 SHIPPING DISCLOSURE I have tried my best to keep shipping cost low but the rates just keep getting higher and higher. I ship using the U. S Postal Service as I find them the safest shipper. The shipping cost to the Midwest and far west is so much more than what I have to deal with here in the Northeast. I have struggled with doing this as I didn't want to lose my bidders/buyers west of me but it just adds up to too much money in the long run. Please understand I do this very reluctantly, as such, I am adding 20% to anything being shipped to zip codes that begin with the number 5,6 or 7 and 33% to anything being shipped to zip codes 8 and 9. Example $150.00 regular shipping cost to zip code that begin with 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 is just that $150.00. Zip codes that begin with 5,6 or 7 would be $150.00 times 20% which equals $30.00 which is added to the $150.00 and becomes $180.00. TO ALL POTENTIAL BUYERS Bidders please remember that I am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years old. These items are commensurate with age, meaning they are old. Chances are if there aren't any, it's a newer item and you shouldn't want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I really don't want to do a refund because the finial ( typically a 10.00 piece ) isn't perfect on a 2,000.00 lamp. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. It seems the more experienced an antique dealer or buyer is, the more understanding of condition they are. That being said, if you think you're going to be a difficult buyer because you want perfection in a 100 year old piece, please purchase another Ebay seller's product.
