This is not the case. The name Siam was used - with governmental permission - to represent the Thai Crafts Community up until the mid-1990s. The older items (usually from about 1940 to about 1955) were marked Made in Siam, and Sterling, while the newer ones were usually marked just Siam and Sterling.
