Plate 73: 'Orestes de Landsvoogd van Alexandrie wordt door de monniken op 't aanhitsen van den Bisschop Cyrillus schimpelyk bejegend' (Orestes, the governor of Alexandria, scorned by monks for provoking bishop Cyrillus). It shows: Three monks threatening Orestes (with a guard at each side) with stones. This original engraving originates from 'Tafereelen der eerste Christenen, bestaande in 92 konstprenten' (Scenes of the first Christians, in 92 prints). This book was published in 1740 in Amsterdam by Gerrity de Groot and Jacobus Rijkhof. The prints by Luyken are accompanied by texts by P. Langendyk and C.
