Description: Beautiful antique Rock of Ages reverse glass painting in its original period frame. This piece dates back to the late nineteenth century. The cross contains Mother-of Pearl shell pieces. The frame is made of a decorative gesso material. This piece measures 30.5” x 26”. Weighs roughly 11 lbs. Good overall condition for its age. There is some wear to the frame (see photos) and the image shows paint loss and some flaking. This is an incredibly rare piece of religious folk art.
