Description: antique Victorian solid brass mortar and pestle set.Apprx 4" tall, 4.5" diameter at top. pestle is apprx 7.5" This fine mortar and pestle set is crafted from brass. Both pieces are of traditional form, with the mortar featuring a bell-shaped body and the pestle double rounded ends. Mortar and pestle sets such as this were used for food and apothecary purpose. I have been told is probably from approximately 1900. Nice antique condition as shown.
