Description: Antique Staffordshire Pottery Shakespeare Hamlet Alas Poor Yorick Figure 11 1/4" Here is a very attractive and very scarce antique 19th C Staffordshire pottery Shakespeare Hamlet "Alas Poor Yorick" figure. It measures about 11 1/4" tall. It is in very good condition overall. There appears to be some old touch-up around the neck area. It is well done and inconspicuous but I cannot rule out an old repair in that area. There also appears to be some old touch-up in right wrist area. There is a long darkened craze line or hairline to inner aspect of right leg. I see no other chips or cracks. The black areas are probably an old repaint and there is a good deal of pealing to black paint mostly on the back side. There is some wear to gold trim. There is some allover fine crazing. Not "perfect" but still a very worthwhile piece. Please see photos.
