Description: From a local estate auction: a partial set of fine table linens. There is a tea tablecloth or table topper measuring 34" square that is decorated with lovely drawn work, and embroidery. The embellishments go all the way around the cloth 4" inset from the hem, which has double drawnwork. There are pyramids of drawnwork with diamond-shapes of satin stitch embroidery, and above them are geometric lines of embroidery - squiggles? - small curved lines with a curlicue on each end. The satin stitch embroidery catches the light. I found two napkins with the exact same embellishment measuring 12.5" square each, as shown. So I am augmenting them with a set of 4 slightly larger 13" square napkins that have the same cream linen and a similar look. Their embellishment includes a small square of reticella lace with embroidery and drawn work so they complement each other well. I have laundered and pressed these, and found the linen to be sound condition - soft, springy, and supple, not brittle. I found no rips, stains, or funky odors. This must have been an heirloom set of linens.
