Description: For sale today we have an ANTIQUE SILVER PRAYER BOX PENDANT, also known as a GHAU or GAU, from TIBET. It is of MIXED SILVER, not sterling. It measures about 3"x2 3/4"x1/2 deep". Weight is 46.5 gms. It is hand crafted with beautifully detailed silver thread work. Turquoise and glass beads are set in the spaces provided for them. The natural patina is rich so I did not want to polish the piece. This Ghau prayer box/pendant is an authentic tribal piece in excellent used antique condition. The copper back opens. Prayers were often kept inside Ghau boxes. Please look at photos carefully as they are part of the description.
