The box has the form of an Italian Renaissance cassone chest decorated with raised geometric designs with embossed background in assorted patterns with a rich gold patina with blackened highlights. The bottom has a Borderline of Ermines ( a sign of purity) frolicking in the flowers; The box is hinged with a tight hinge that opens and closes correctly with a latch closure.
