Description: This is a Museum Quality Tiffany Studios Reproduction of their Woodbine Leaded Glass Lamp Shade on the Beautiful Windbrine Flower Empire Bronze Lamp base. The base stands some 30 inches tall with a 4 inch (4.5 inch actual) wheel standing on its sculpted 13 inch base. The base alone weighs in at about 18 pounds of nicely patinated solid bronze with red, bronze and green highlights. Quoting from Dr. Neustadt's "The Lamps of Tiffany" book, he states "The style of the elaborate base is pure Empire. Four ornate legs rise from a four-cornerd platform, merge to make the slightly bulging body of the stem, then narrow and flare out again to form four scrolls; above the scrolls, the stem ends in a flattened orb of openwork." In regards to the 22 inch Leaded Glass Woodbine Shade, he also says "This plant, which belongs to the Honeysuckle family and is better known as Virginia Creeper, ...Features vividly colored five-fold clusters of leaves in the asence of flowers...and occupy the lower portion of the shade which have no lower border row. The upper portion is filled with geometric glass sections ... in half hexagons in the aperture row and olong hexagons below. Highly translucent fractured glass is employed in the geometric rows."
