This meticulously crafted pair of Victorian earrings was probably created for mourning, but today can be worn with black attire for an elegant look. They are composed of 10K yellow gold, onyx, and seed pearls. The black stones are bezel-set into sections that are edged in milgrain. Other details are the tiny gold balls that mimic the shape of the seed pearls which are centered in each earring and a "shadow box" effect with an inside backing that seems to glow with the richness of a high-karat gold. They have wires on the back for pierced ears and a C catch for closure. Although unmarked, they test for 10K gold. Dates from 1860-1870.
