Description: We are pleased to offer for your consideration an unique find Japanese Ichimatsu 市松人形 GOFUN Friendship Baby Girl Doll 15.5in Tall from 1920'sfeatures:~ serene flesh-colored face, body, legs and arms painted with a shining "skin" lacquer called gofun (which is made from ground oyster shell and glue)~finely hand painted face with delicately painted rosebud mouth~ beautiful inset brown glass eyes with accented eye sockets and hand painted lower lashes~hand painted feathered eyebrows ~pronounced modelling of the ears, shows great sensitivity,~ beautiful human black hairs in perfect shape~articulated head, arms and legs ~the doll has a unpainted brown torso with an opening in the center with removable box/squeaker? and folded original, Japanese newspaper with readable numbers: 28.....5.....26 , means likely year 1926 or 1928~the head, hands and legs are covered with gofun and probably have a wood pulp core.This Ichimatsu Dolls is very much in the style of the 1927 original "Ichimatsu Friendship 58 Dolls" that were gifted by Japanese children to the United States. Measures approximately: 15 1/2" - 16" tall.Condition Report: AS PICTURED. Will appreciate restrung, head, arms and legs are very lose. Hairs are full and intact. No missing parts, no dents. There is very minor very slight staining and soiling here and there. There are hairlines to the lower legs, more on the right leg with cracked but restored tip of the right feet, see last photo. Her kimono was made by hands, inaccurately, likely it is not original, but definitely vintage.Please examine all 12 pictures including collages as a very important part of description.Questions before buying are welcome .
