Art Institute of Chicago Silk Oblong Scarf Van Gogh Sunflowers Velvety Museum

Description: This is an oblong silk burnout velvet scarf from the Art Institute of Chicago. The fabric is 2 ply. Once side has velvety sunflowers in brown. The other side is plain brown silk. This provides a nice contrast. What's cool about the velvety side is that the flowers look different depending on the way the light is hitting the scarf. It creates a pretty effect. I bought this scarf in the 1990s at the Art Institute of Chicago. It originally had a Gouda tag on it (Gouda was one of the companies that made scarves for the AIC then). The scarf measures about 56 1/2" x 9 3/4". The design is inspired by Van Gogh's sunflower paintings. This is a previously loved scarf. I took good care of it. I just had it cleaned so you can wear it when you receive it. Hem is intact. No holes or tears. Comes from nonsmoking home. I've photographed it front and back to show condition so please look at the photos. It still looks lovely. Please let me know if you have questions about the scarf. To the best of my ability, I have scrutinized this item for flaws. Buyer understands that this is a preowned item that is not new and might have other flaws. Because what might be a flaw to you is a sort of wear and tear that a preowned item would naturally incur.
