Description: The Golfer by Bart Forbes This great print has been stored for years. This is one of Bart Forbes most famous, classic, images. This is a print taken from his oil on canvas painting done in 1988. It needs to be seen and enjoyed. It measures 17 1/4" x 35" including the white border. The image size is 11 1/4" x 28". The first 2 pictures were taken with a flash, the others without. You can see the signature from the painting, reproduced in the lower left corner, then his HAND SIGNED signature in the right. Bart Forbes is one of America’s preeminent artists and illustrators. He has worked for popular magazines including TIME, Sports Illustrated, Ladies Home Journal, McCalls, Golf Digest, as well as a broad selection of corporate clients. His distinctive style has been highly sought. Among his highest honors were 1986 Sport Artist of the Year given by the American Sport Art Museum and Archives, and selection as Official Artist for the 1988 Olympics. His work spans a wide range of topics, but he is best known for his sports illustrations. He has designed over 20 commemorative stamps for the U.S. Postal Service. Other sporting events he has illustrated and designed posters for include the Boston Marathon, PGA and Senior’s tournaments, The Americas Cup, the Indianapolis 500 and 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. In addition to his many sports theme paintings and posters, Forbes has also produced a number of beautiful series based on his studies of endangered species, history, and music.
