Description: Felix Frankfurter [1882 1965] was a jurist and professor born in Austria who was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and served from 1939 until 1962. Frankfurter was a noted advocate of judicial restraint in the judgment of the Court. Listed for auction is an [ALS] autographed letter signed by Felix Frankfurter on the letterhead of the Supreme Court of the United States Washington, D.C. The letter is dated May 5, 1961, and reads as follows, Dear Mr. Stan Barrett: It is a source of deep regret that the work of the court at this most tacking period will preclude my attendance at the dedication of the xxxx xxxx room, to which you have so kindly asked me. The letter is nicely signed at the conclusion ''Sincerely yours Felix Frankfurter'' in black fountain pen. The letter measures 7.75 x 5.50 inches, was previously framed, it has trivial toning/expected mail fold otherwise it is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic, and the letter is a desirable example of the noted jurist signed on a Supreme Court letterhead.
