Description: Myobrace® for Adults Stage 3 - A3 Finalise alignment, habit correction and retention The A3 focuses on final alignment of the teeth while retaining the arch form, breathing and myofunctional habits. It is the firmest appliance in the series, designed to provide the best retention of arch form and habits. By this stage of treatment, patients' teeth will be mostly aligned and, therefore, the A3 can be used to finalise any remaining mild malocclusion. If desired, optimum final alignment can be achieved with braces or sequential aligners combined with the Myobrace® for Braces series. Myobrace® for Adults For patients in the permanent dentition Myobrace®for Adults is a three-stage appliance system used in the permanent dentition. Although the appliances are still very effective at correcting breathing and myofunctional disorders, little to no remaining growth combined with long-standing poor habits result in less effective orthodontic outcomes. As such, this appliance range is almost always combined with additional arch development techniques and sometimes braces or clear aligners. What causes orthodontic problems? The majority of our children will develop crowded teeth and incorrect jaw alignment. Modern research has shown that mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, reverse swallowing and thumb sucking-known as incorrect myofunctional habits-are the real causes of crooked teeth. These habits limit the development of the child's jaws and face resulting in orthodontic problems. These causes cannot be corrected with fixed braces. Directions for Use Use your Myobrace® appliance for one to two hours each day plus overnight while sleeping Your teeth may become slightly tender in the early stages of treatment. This is quite normal, but if soreness becomes excessive, decrease application time and advise your doctor.
