Description: This wonderful EAPG (Early American Pattern Glass) footed water pitcher was made by George Bakewell & Pears Glass Company. The pattern is called "Ribbon" and it dates from 1877. When filled to its brim it holds 40 ounces of water (about 5 cups). It is a classic design featuring etched vertical "ribbons" with a feathered styled lip. It measures 8 3/4 " tall with a top diameter (not including the spout) of about 5". These types of pitchers were also known as table pitchers in the day... It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or dings. The glass does have manufacture bubbles here and there - one is very pronounced on the handle. The inside of the spout has a straw mark (this is not a crack) very typical of EAPG. This is a quality antique water pitcher weighing in at just under 3 1/2 pounds.
