Description: This is an original 1956 hardcover printing (with original dust jacket) of "Beautiful London," published by Phaidon Press of London and featuring 103 sharp, large, black & white photographs of sites all over London, taken by photographer Helmut Gernsheim. The foreword was written by James Pope-Hennessy. The copy being offered is in fair condition overall. As you'll see in my first five photos, the covers have moderate wear, with some discoloration and a few small dents along the edges. The dust jacket has substantial wear, including scratches, wrinkles, creases, smudging, discoloration, and noticeable chipping/tearing along the edges. The pages are mostly clean, crisp, and strongly bound, although small brown stains occur on the page edges.
