Description: This is a handsome genuine men's beaver coat made in Winnipeg, Canada by The Hurtigs of Vaughan Street in 1975. The size is not specified but the owner (who is seen in the photo) wears a size 38-40 coat size. The coat length from the top of back collar to the bottom is 36 inches, the arm sleeve length is approximately 24 inches, and across the chest is about 20 inches. The coat is very warm and comfortable. Regarding condition please read: The coat is in good condition for it's age. However the lining has what appears to be areas of fading (not dirt or staining) which you can see in the photo. Also, in areas next to the pockets the outer fur hairs have shed quite a bit, leaving the soft undercoat of the beaver fur more visible (please see picture #8 below the measuring tape next to the pockets). There were 2 minor (a few inches long) tears in the fur near the bottom of the back of the coat that we had repaired after the photo was taken; the repair makes the flaw nearly invisible. All the buttons are present and looking good. The owner of the coat wore it for only 2 years in Canada when new, then moved to California where it has never been worn since 1977. It has been stored in the back of a closet in the open air, not in a plastic bag (which is good). It appears to be clean and ready to wear. The main defects are the fading on the lining and the loss of some of the outer hairs in a few areas.We are not fur coat experts and are not capable of evaluating the coat other than to use common sense.
