Description: This is a stunning set of three antique/vintage original watercolor paintings by Ben Messick, depicting fashion studies. The paintings are signed by the artist at the bottom of each painting and are a medium size and are matted with a foam core board backing. The subject of these paintings is fashion depictions of the era when these watercolors were produced (1930s - 1940s?). The paintings are produced using watercolor painting techniques on paper surfaces and are all originals. The time period produced is 1925-1949, making these paintings a rare and valuable addition to any art collection. The watercolors look great and are sure to be a conversation starter in any room. The photos show the conditions of each watercolor, please see all pictures and ask any questions prior to purchase. When I purchased these paintings about two decades ago, the collector said these paintings were 'fashion studies'. Each painting has a number (88, 89, 91) and a price of $1500 on the back of each backing (please see pics). The dimensions for painting numbered 88 is 18in x 15in matted and 12 1/2in x 9 1/2in unmatted. Painting numbered 89 is 17 1/2in x 15in matted and 12 1/2in x 9in unmatted. Painting 91 is 17 1/2in x 14 3/4in matted and 12 1/2in x 9in unmatted. Painting 91 also has an embossed stamp in the upper left corner, but I cannot make out what it reads (see pic). Condition: Please note, each painting has some condition issues (pin/tack holes, waviness/wrinkles, watercolor droplets, toning, creasing, etc.) so please look at all pictures for condition of each watercolor. Also, some pics have the matting lifted to show the bottom border and edges of each watercolor to show you the conditions without the matting. I can't lift the tops of the matting because this is where the painting is bound with the matting and foam core board backing. These are very old and extremely rare watercolors from a very well-known and listed artist. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like additional pics. Additionally, this item is being sold as-is, please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchase. No returns will be accepted. Also, shipment will only be available within the US/Canada.
