Description: This Brooch from the village of Laya in the nomadic highlands of NW Bhutan is used by the village females to clip their clothing (often fur) at the shoulder. It, along with colorful aprons and bamboo hats The brooch is similar to others worn as part of the female costume in Bhutan and is called a Koma. This one is a mixed silver metal (not entirely silver and may be embossed or punched out before being applied to a flat base. It is 2 3/4" in diameter and is slightly raised in the center. There is an unknown green stone in the center. This is an antique and is slightly worn but still in wonderful condition but please look at all the pictures.
