Description: MUSEUM QUALITY Gem FLUORITE CRYSTAL on Dolostone/Dolomite Matrix with minor Sphalerite. Main Event is the 3 inch CUBE of FLUORITE that has Naturally etched Carthage Corners (windows) to allow sight into and inside Nature. Matrix is solid Dolostone/Dolomite with an associated minor line of Dark Color Sphalerite. Only significant damage is on Back Side were extracted from solid Mother Rocks via hammer and chisel. One of the Fluorite Cubes corners has a tiny 3 millimeters chip that likely appeared with extraction. This specimen was removed from the 5000 foot depth level of the now-closed Elmwood (zinc) Mine in TENNESSEE. This mine became quite famous amongst mineral collectors in early 1980's when Gem Quality Fluorite and Gem Quality Calcite were discovered at the mile depth levels. Now the mine is closed as of 2023 and flooded so specimens of this Magnitude are very RARE. The BIG Gem Fluorite Crystal Cube is very TRANSLUCENT and Natural Light goes in and out readily. Lines, Surfaces, Etching and Terminations are perfect! Purple Colorations are Light Hues with Dark Purple accents. Very attractive Show Specimen that sets very calm and mind-boggling! Measures about 8.5 in x 5.5 in x 5 inches at max margins and the BIG Gem Fluorite Crystal Cube is about 3 inches x 3 inches. Specimen weighs 9 pounds 1.1 ounces.
