Description: A stunning piece of art from Milton, West Virginia, 2012, this topaz dulcimer was created as part of a series honoring the music of Appalachia and is a very limited piece. It is signed by the mold creator and designer, Daniel Chapman, and numbered 96 on the underside. From what I understand, seventy-five pieces of each of five instruments were created and sold in the Visitor's Center in Milton, West Virginia, and then seventy-five pieces were offered online through Blenko, which is how I came across this piece and a gorgeous blue banjo on another auction. I believe a cello and violin were also part of the series. The dulcimer has an opening at the top, where it could be a vase, but I think it is beautiful on display solo - or especially lovely paired with one or two other pieces in this series. The dulcimer was the third piece in the series of five, I believe, and is a statuesque piece with a height of approximately eighteen inches and a depth of two inches. I can find no flaws in this beauty. The soft topaz color is lovely; pretty curved etchings are on the front; crystal tuners are on the sides. I really had to hunt online to find any information on these pieces; they are scarce, scarce, scarce! We have wrapped the dulcimer with great care and placed in two boxes where it will make a safe journey. Shipping will be very prompt and delivery by FedEx - where we pay the extra insurance over the basic $100 for you. Where are the holidays without music (and the sparkle of Blenko glass)? Thank you for viewing!
