Description: Up for sale is a Antique Royal Vienna Style Transfer Plate made in Eichwald, Czech Republic by Bloch & Co. Circa 1900-. The plate features a cobalt blue outer border with a lovely ornate gold gilt pattern around the border and gold gilt trim. The center of the plate has a gorgeous neoclassical scene with a man and woman at a river with a cherub. The scene was transfer printed and has some sections that appear to be hand painted. My best guess is that they has most of the scene printed but has some parts left out to be hand painted in after the print was done. There is a blue underglaze Vienna style beehive mark on the base. This mark was used in Eichwald, Czech Republic by Bloch & Co from 1900 onward. The plate was like made in the early 20th century. There is minor wear to the scene and typical base wear as seen in the photos. The gold decoration has almost no wear. There are no cracks, chips, or crazing. Overall the plate displays beautifully. Measurements are approximately:7/8" Tall to Rim.9 3/8" Rim Diameter.5 5/8" Base Diameter.
