This is a SMALL specimen shown with large images that will display on your screen larger than life. Please note the dimensions in the description below. This is a NICE SMALL SPECIMEN of a barite crystal cluster. This specimen was mined at the Paga Mine in Emerson (a community near Cartersville) in the 1990's. These choice specimens now bear Dixie Euhedrals labels and have re-entered the market some 30 years later. The lower part of the specimen has light blue color and the upper portion is tan-colored due to inclusions. There are phantoms and phantom lines in the crystals. One side is almost completely tan due to inclusions and it is that side that was facing the stream of hydrothermal solution that the crystals were growing in. This also has some black manganese on the specimen. This is a very sharp specimen. This specimen is way above average quality for the locality. This specimen is of exceptional quality and you will be very pleased with it. This is shown with enlarged images so please note:This is shown with large high-resolution images. The photos show the specimen as if you were examining it with a magnifying glass. Every good detail, and every bad detail, is shown in a blaze of glory or shame as the case may be. This specimen measures Approximately 2" wide x 1" deep x 1" tall. or in metric exactly 5.0 x 2.5 x 2.4 cm. Please note the measurements because the photos are enlarged. Some photos are very highly enlarged. This weighs: 1.25 ounces or 35 grams. Barite is a very dense and heavy mineral. The mine was obtaining barite to make drilling mud. The resulting barite mud is so heavy that it is used in mining and is pumped into drill holes during the drilling process to force debris out so that the drill bits don't get stuck! The baroid drilling mud is so heavy that the rock powder and debris "floats" up and out in the mud. This is a SMALL specimen shown with big pictures. This specimen will display on your computer screen larger than life. Please note the size listed above. Please check out my other listings if you like rocks! Ordering more than one specimen? Use the shopping cart and send only ONE PAYMENT and I will give you a rebate of $2 per crystal. Since sending only one payment reduces my workload and expenses and eliminates having to manually enter data and eliminates the risk of me forgetting to manually enter tracking and thereby losing discounts and having decreased search result rankings, and since sending several payments does not do all of that wonderful stuff and doubles my work and gives me a tension headache, I can only offer this if you send only one payment.Isn't free shipping grand!??! Have you noticed that almost every listing by almost every other seller has this same desperate plea? That's because it is important and a huge help.
