Description: Genuine BMW Classic Rally Racing Watch !!! Genuine vintage BMW watch with Swiss movement, hand winding!!! Made in the 1960's-1970's, this particular model it's impossible to find it and especially in this condition, new old stock and fully and professionally serviced, in fully working condition (2-4 minutes accuracy for 24 hours, perfectly fine for the 1970's) and with the original racing rubber Swiss made Tropic strap !!! EXTREMELY RARE MODEL !!!Unique case design inspired by the vintage steering wheel from the 1970's used in the racing cars. Light alloy case with a thick chrome on it, black PVD coated top bezel and an acrylic crystal. The white dial with the BMW Roundel in the center and crisp black minute/hour markers on the outer ring, makes time reading very easy and pleasurable. Indication of time by hour, minute and second hands. Luminous hour/minute/second hands (tho they have fainted due to it's age). The case design it is complemented by the classical Swiss made by Tropic rally racing design of the rubber band. Every known brand submits the watch to a 2-phase test in a chamber, where it has to withstand to pressure for the minimum length of time required by industrial standards. It may seem a paradox, but low pressure-resistance, say at 0.5 bar equivalent to 50 cm depth is more critical to achieve, because increasing pressure tends to compress the seals, thereby increasing the resistance; the second phase test conducted at 3 bar (30 m.) is confirmatory.Because of a solid case-construction, the known brands watches will resist to 10 bar (100 m. or 300 ft) and we could confidently call it a «diver’s watch»2. HOWEVER:The water resistance of a wristwatch is constantly challenged by mechanical wear caused by bumps, shocks etc., rapid changes in temperature, caustic acids, chemicals, etc. and can therefore not be guaranteed as a permanent condition.
