Since the EWS is bypassed, no programming or synchronization is required to enable you to start the vehicle. Use it to replace a faulty DME or to bypass your faulty EWS system. With this ready to install DME, you will no longer need a functioning EWS system in order to start your car. This is great solution for engine swap projects and failed EWS systems. Before shipping out all plug n' play DME's, all adaptations and learned variants (transmission type, etc.) are reset. When adaptations are reset, the DME will recalibrate once installed and the vehicle may run rough at first while it re-learns and adjusts mixture adaptations, etc. Even though we perform adaptation reset before shipping the plug n' play DME's out, in rare instances there may be an EML warning light that appears after startup. If this occurs you will need to clear codes and perform adaptation reset and learned variant reset on the vehicle using free software like INPA or other scan tool with similar capabilities. Please reach out to us so that we can provide instructions on how to reset your adaptions upon a code clearing if you are experiencing throttle surge or "idle hunting". ***Additional Information*** 1. Cars with a manual transmission: You may get a (Service Engine Light Error) saying that “Error Communicating with EGS”. There are no pre-existing "learned" values, we reset all the adaptations. Typically upon first start the ECU will search and recognize the transmission type but you may need to clear the “Variant Adaptations” on the DME so the DME can recognize your transmission type and get rid of that code. This can be done with a mid-level scan tool that has that function. 2. In some cases, the very first time you start the car with the new DME, the “EML” bulb on the dash will be lit-up and idle will not be smooth. If you read the codes, there will be a “Throttle Adaptations Error”. This is the most common error faced upon successful installation and starting of the vehicle. There is a specific process that needs completed in order to teach the DME your throttle behavior. Upon completion you may use a simple scan tool to clear any codes. 3. (Before placing an order) If your car currently does not crank or turn-over at all, simply only swapping the DME will not get it to crank or turn-over. You MUST unplug the module and jump the starter wires (pins #1 & #2) on the female plug that connects the car to the EWS module. The preferred method of closing the circuit is to use a 30AMP+ Maxi Fuse. Please do your research and be open to troubleshooting, reading the DME errors, and clearing the adaptations. Remember, you are changing the most complex computer in your car and it is not always a simple plug and play. 4. You will get a dummy EWS error code when scanning the car. It won’t trigger a Service Engine Light or CEL or cause any problems. Just ignore it.Part 12147541336 was found on the following E46 vehicles:3' E46, 325Ci, Convertible, M54, USA, (BS33) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325Ci, Convertible, M54, USA, (BW33) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BD33) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BN33) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M56, USA, (BN73) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M56, USA, (BV13) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (AN37) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (AV33) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M56, USA, (AZ33) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (ET37) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (EV33) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 325i, Touring, M56, USA, (AX13) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 330Ci, Convertible, M54, USA, (BS53) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 330Ci, Convertible, M54, USA, (BW53) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 330Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BD53) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 330Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BN53) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 330i, Sedan, M54, USA, (AV53) : Basic control unit DME3' E46, 330i, Sedan, M54, USA, (EV53) : Basic control unit DMEPart 12147541336 was found on the following E60 vehicles:5' E60, 525i, Sedan, M54, USA, (NA53) : Basic control unit DME5' E60, 530i, Sedan, M54, USA, (NA73) : Basic control unit DMEPart 12147541336 was found on the following E83 vehicles:X3 E83, X3 3.0i, SUV, M54, USA, (PA93) : Basic control unit DMESuperseded by:12147541344(03/29/2004 — 09/02/2005), Exchangeable retrospectively12147543158(07/01/2004 — 08/25/2005), Exchangeable retrospectively12147543224(07/01/2004 — 08/06/2004), Exchangeable retrospectively12147548770(09/01/2004 — 10/10/2005), Exchangeable retrospectively12147548772(09/01/2004 — 12/09/2005), Exchangeable retrospectively12147549795(09/01/2005 — 07/19/2005), Exchangeable retrospectively12147561383(09/01/2005 — ), Exchangeable retrospectivelySupersedes:12147533654(12/01/2003 — 04/23/2004), Exchangeable retrospectively12147533652(12/01/2003 — 05/26/2004), Exchangeable retrospectively12147526791(07/01/2003 — 01/09/2004), Exchangeable retrospectively12147527015(07/01/2003 — 05/12/2004), Exchangeable retrospectively12147532903(05/01/2003 — 06/06/2003), Exchangeable retrospectively12147530211(05/01/2003 — 10/27/2003), Exchangeable retrospectively12147532143(02/21/2003 — 04/08/2003), Exchangeable retrospectively12147532142(02/21/2003 — 07/09/2003), Exchangeable retrospectively12147531500(02/01/2003 — 04/17/2003), Exchangeable retrospectively12147523810(01/01/2003 — 01/29/2003), Exchangeable retrospectively12147514833(09/01/2002 — 03/28/2003), Exchangeable retrospectively12147527110(09/01/2002 — 09/10/2002), Exchangeable retrospectively12147526952(09/01/2002 — 07/29/2002), Exchangeable retrospectively12147525937(09/01/2002 — 07/10/2002)
