Currently I have an Apogee Breakout Box for sale here on eBay at this link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/116178867932 May audio engineers refer to the Duet Firewire as "the holy grail" of audio interfaces as their sound and functionality was perfect right from the original iteration of this classic devise. The later versions of the Duet added bells and whistles that just made it less reliable like the LED screen on the later versions that often blacks out and needs an expensive servicing to be replaced. The unique version of this devise I'm selling here can be used with the newer Mac OS versions Big Sur and Monterey because it has the latest firmwear update and the correct drivers to go with it. I will include a link to download these drivers with the unit. The Duet Firewire will not work with the very latest Mac OS Ventura or Sonoma because those operating systems don't have any firewire drivers. This version of the Duet can also be used with Linex if you know how to custom configure firewire and audio devise drivers in Linex OS. That said some of the functionality of the interface will not work in Linex even after a custom set up: The big knob can select most functions: gain for the first mic, headphone level, hold to mute or unmute the main sound. But there is no live monitoring and there is no way to turn on 48V Phantom power. There's also no way to switch the input from mic to line/guitar etc. It has two 1/4" outputs, two 1/4" inputs that support both line and instrument levels, and two XLR inputs that accept +4 balanced line level or mic inputs that include 48V phantom power for anyone using condenser mics with a gain range of 10 to 75 dB. If you do the math here you will see that we have 4 possible connection types for input: line (unbalanced and +4 balanced), instrument, and microphone.
