Justine Sammi is in mint condition and her box is in near mint, still sealed with its original tape. It does have a very small crease on the box's right side, which isn't that noticeable at all. Because it is sealed, I can't see the year she was born. The copyright on the bottom said 2004, but I don't know if that's the year. I can only see January 17th on her folded and sealed birth certificate and adoption papers in a package in her box. All Cabbage Patch Kids have a vinyl head and soft bodies. Ours is no different. Her dress is baby blue velour with satin accents. She's wearing the cutest little baby blue socks and shoes as well. Her hair is a natural blond shade and is made of what looks to be a type of yarn. Their clothing is fully removable, so kids can have fun putting on different outfits. Other Cabbage Patch outfits, as well as baby clothes will give kids the ability to change their kid's attire. BEFORE PACKING so she makes it safely from us to you, the box with the doll inside is approximately 15” high, 11 1/2” wide, 8” deep, and weighs about 2 lbs.9oz. The box is going to have to be good sized to hold and package this box. We'll take every bit of care we possibly can to preserve her pristine condition. He used his skills in sculpting and quilting that he'd learned from his mother, as well as a German technique from the early 1800's called "needle molding." In 1978, after winning a first place ribbon for sculpture at the Osceola Art Show in Florida, Xavier began showing at arts and crafts shows, selling his adorable creations for about $40, their "adoption fee." Because they were selling so well, Xavier got five of his school friends together and incorporated the Original Appalachian Artworks, Inc. in Cleveland, Georgia. Because they renovated and had their business in the restored L.G. Neal Clinic, a turn of the of the century medical facility, they called it the "Babyland General Hospital," and opened to the public. In 1981, their dolls were so popular, they were featured on the cover of "Newsweek" magazine. In 1983, Cabbage Patch Kids Toys go on record as the most successful new doll introduction in the history of the toy industry. In 1985, "Christopher Xavier," a Cabbage Patch boy journeyed into space on the U.S. Space Shuttle. In 1992, Cabbage Patch Kids were named the first official mascot of the U.S. Olympic Team and they traveled to Barcelona with the athletes. In January of the year 2000, Cabbage Patch Kids got their own U.S.P.S. stamp. In 2009, the business was moved to a new 70,000 sq. ft. building where they have a Magic Crystal Tree where guests can watch a "live" delivery of a Cabbage Patch Kid. In 2018, they celebrated 40 years in the business. In 2023, Cabbage Patch Kids were inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame located at The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York.
