Brass goes from the 1890s through to the 1970s, the Tinned steel and Blued steel were more common during WW I (late) and WW II. The Blued steel clip being developed with the M38 7,35 ammo, and then carried over to 6,5mm from 1940 onwards; after the end of WW II steel was dropped and by 1949, brass was back in use.
