Description: British George IV 1822 Pattern Non-Regulation Infantry Officers Antique Sword. 805mm blade length. Condition is very good for a sword of close to 200 years of age, blade retains its spring temper, has scabbard which sheaths and unsheathes (wood core gone), folding guard works without issue, blade tight to grip, has patina (mostly on scabbard), steel scabbard with brass hangers, grip, fish skin and wire wrap tight, Unusual non-regulation blade in the 1903 heavily curved and fullered style. Gilded brass gothic guard and backstrap. Has some engravings on blade Initials read S HF so could be a good research opportunity. Period scabbard repair on drag signed E.BH. Overall, a very unusual sword and which handles beautifully.
