British Kenya and Uganda Stamps, King George V, 1922 and 1927, used hinged

Description: Kenya was created after the British Empire changed its East Africa Protectorate into a Crown Colony in 1920. The former controlled state, containing parts of present-day Kenya and Tanzania, had already been operating its administration and postal services jointly with the neighboring Uganda Protectorate since 1903. The two bodies previously used stamps inscribed "EAST AFRICA AND UGANDA PROTECTORATES." After Kenya became a colony, Great Britain changed the stamps' text to read “Kenya and Uganda” beginning in 1922.All the postage stamps produced from 1922 to 1935 feature King George V. Their values were in Cents, East African Shillings, and Pounds. These were the first stamps released after the region's currency changed from Rupees to East African Shillings. The low-value stamps ranged from 1 Cent to 250 Cents, while the high-value stamps ranged from 1 Shilling to 100 Pounds. The highest face values were used primarily for fiscal purposes. The Kenya and Uganda stamps were released thrice, in 1922, 1925 and 1927. The 1925 issue mainly consisted of new values, while the 1927 issue consisted of two old values (5 Cents and 10 Cents) in new colors. The first four stamps in this offer were printed in 1922 and the fifth one in 1927.I guarantee all stamps I sell to be authentic and as described. Photos shown here are of the actual stamps you will receive. You can return any stamp I sell for a full refund within 30 days of you receiving it. It must be in the as-sold condition when you return it. If the stamp is not as described in this offer, I will pay your return mailing cost up to the amount you paid for mailing when you purchased this offer. If the stamp is as described but you decided you didn't want it, you must pay the return mailing cost. This offer is for sale only within the United States of America.
