DETAILS: Case: ‘Wrist Alarm’ model. Very sophisticated and noticeably different with a unique and unusual design. The oval shaped stainless-steel case is broadly chunky in design, perhaps better meeting today’s fashion. Original and signed BULOVA on the back. Both the bezel and two-part case back have been cleaned & repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. There are a few dings, also the reflector ring is showing some areas of tarnish – please be sure you are happy with these issues. The case back has only been lightly repolished so as to preserve the identification stamps. In general the case looks good with wear/scratches commensurate with the age of the watch. Crowns: The two crowns are original, signed ‘Bulova. Showing virtually no wear. Dial: The lightly textured dark blue dial is in its original condition and is showing age related wear, patina and scuffs. The hour positions are marked with raised polished steel rectangular batons with a white center line. The ‘Bulova’ name, ‘Wrist Alarm’, ‘swiss made’ and minute chapter are in white. The inner alarm chapter is in light blue with the hour positions marked with rectangular ticks and the quarter hour intervals marked also. The hour positions along with the hour and minute hands have been relumed and now glow well in the dark. There is a date window at the three o’clock position with the numerals in black on a white background. Hands: The hour, minute hand and sweep second hand are all original. The latter is white. The alarm hand is also original with a large arrow shaped head matching the colour of the alarm chapter. Movement: BULOVA high quality Swiss manual wind movement. This is a fine classic 11AURCD calibre with 17 jewels marked ‘N4’ for 1974. The movement has been cleaned, oiled & adjusted, and is running well, keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended. Size: Broadly oval, approx. 39.19mm including the lugs X 36.55mm at the widest point. Band: A new 18mm black leather band with bamboo textured effect and stainless steel buckle has been fitted complementing the watch perfectly. _______________________________________________________________________________ General comments: This is a lovely example of a Bulova ‘Wrist Alarm’ manual wind wrist alarm watch from 1974 which has been restored to appeal once again – and as I’m sure you will agree, it certainly does.
