Description: Here for sale is an antique original Parian Bust of Albert Edward, the Prince of Wales and later King Edward VII. It is 14” tall and made in 1864 by Copeland for the Art Union of London. It depicts him in the uniform of a Lieutenant Colonel in the 10th Royal Hussars, as worn in 1860 at the dedication of the Victoria Bridge in Montreal. His cross belt has the three feather badge of the Prince of Wales and on his left breast is the Star of the Order of the Garter. The sculptor of the piece was Charles Eugene Delpeche (as signed on the lower rear), based on the bust sculpted by Morton Edwards. Excellent condition with no observable defects.
