Description: C. Maurus Chino was born into the Eagle/Sun Clan Acoma Pueblo in northwest New Mexico. He was born in Albuquerque in 1954. This exquisite hand etched seed pot features 8 lizards and a turquoise stone and is named ”Round Dance” It is signed by the artist and dated ‘97 It measures approximately 4”x4” C. Maurus Chino was influenced by his grandmother’s work in clay and his grandfather’s carving. He received a bachelor of fine art from NMSU in 1980 where he developed his art skills. He has won awards for both his pottery and paintings. This flawless seed pot shows off his creativity, skills and graphic sensibility while bringing his respect and influence of others from the ancient to present modern life.
