It is from Hand-Atlas uber alte Theile der Erde in 28 Blattern, by Carl Glaser, published in Stuttgart, circa 1848. It was published sometime after the ceding of California to the US in 1848, based on the North America Map. A facsimile copy of the title page is included for authenticity. It is not matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as shown in the main pic photographed against a black background. Size: The image area measures approximately 8 by 11 inches (21x28cm) on a page measuring 10 1/2 by 12 1/2" (27x32cm) as shown in the pic. Condition: The map is in Good condition, blank on reverse with original hand color outlining as issued. It is basically as seen in the pics with some light staining mainly in the bottom margin, otherwise it has strong original color and a rich patina that would frame up with an antique appearance.
