"Camden's Challenge-A History of Camden County Georgia"-1976-Limited Ed #370/500

Description: Offered is the vintage book "Camden's Challenge-A History of Camden County Georgia", compiled by Marguerite Reddick and published in 1976 by the Camden County Historical Commission. The book is a limited edition; this is #370/500, stamped on the back endpaper (see photo #2). It is also stamped "Surplus 1 Library of Congress Duplicate" on the front endpaper (see last two photos), but that is the only indication of its apparent one-time residence in the Library of Congress. There are numerous black and white photos and illustrations. This is a rare find, by definition, as only 500 were printed, and its former residence in the Library of Congress may make this copy unique. The book is approx. 9 1/4" x 6 1/2" and contains 606 pages, including the index. It is in good to very good condition. The dark green padded hard cover has almost no wear, although there are some small "dents" in the cover surface and some light marks. The gold words on the front and spine are still shiny. There is no cracking inside either the front or back cover. The map endpapers are clean, but slightly yellowing, except for the Library of Congress stamp in the front, which has partially smudged the other side, as well (see next-to-last photo). I see no missing or torn pages and all of the pages are well-attached to the binding. They are generally clean and clear, although yellowing, more so around the page edges. I see no writing in the book.
