Description: A very rare - with the term used correctly, 1958 first generation Campagnolo alloy crank 170mm arms with 52/45 chainrings. The crank is used. It is nicer and with fewer "issues" than most we see. A box (we'll assume it's not original) is included. The arms are polished (most of those from this vintage seem to be but we're not 100% sure they all were). We polished the arms a bit, but in no way did we go crazy trying to clean them up as much as they could be. The rare back-side pedal caps are intact, though with repro's around we can't be 100% sure they are original, but we think they are. Overall these are a great choice for mounting on a bike. The extractor threads are great. The drive pedal threads looked better than the non-drive side - but we threaded in a pedal on the non drive as far as we dare (you need a short-thread pedal so you don't drive the caps out. And the pedal threaded in wonderfully! So all good there. The tapers look good but we note the non-drive arm has been drawn up kinda far. Clever mechanics typically know how to work around this if there is an issue. So look at the photos and see what you get. Also note - vintage cranks are not as robust as modern ones. And this early version crank was taken out of production in short order as they were not as robust as they should have been - so it's mostly for a display or lightly used bike. This item is perfect for that old Cinelli, Masi, Hetchins, Reynolds 531 or Columbus SL bicycle that you have. This item will be shipped with signature required. The fine print: It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine if an item purchased from us is safe for use. Many items, especially vintage items, are best for display-only due to metal fatigue, other degradation from time, and vintage designs that were not subject to modern testing. If you purchase an item from us and you make a determination that the item is not safe for use, contact us for a replacement or refund. But don't use this reason is you simply changed your mind about your need for the item. You take care of us, and we take care of you! This item is being sold by Boulder Bicycle. We "failed retirement" and once again are in the vintage bicycle parts business. The staff at Boulder Bicycle has been selling vintage Campagnolo Nuovo Record and Super Record parts since the early 1990's! Note that while we failed retirement, we do plan to keep the business somewhat low key so we may not ship every day. But we constantly update the handling time on our listings to accurately reflect when you should expect your item to ship. Do not ask us to report a lower-than-actual value for items shipped internationally. It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay all customs/vat/import fees. And please don't get mad at us if the postal service is slow - we take pride on getting your order packaged carefully and shipped on Wednesday. If the postal service is slow or has other issues, we'll help with tracking and moral support, but we aren't the postmaster. ------- A note about pricing - if we are interested in accepting offers for an item, we will enable price or "best offer" in the listing. Otherwise, do not message us to ask if we will accept a lower price. We review our pricing regularly and make changes based on product availability and market conditions. You will notice many of our prices are much lower than other sellers for similar items. We try to keep things fun and informative and fair for everyone. Unfortunately, we are getting older and grumpier as time goes on - sorry about that. So if you ask us if we will accept a lower price on an item that does not have "best offer" enabled, we may block you as a bidder. Now we have to go yell at a kid to get off our lawn......
