Description: From an estate, a 16 piece WWII lot from Newfoundland. Some of this is related to anti-submarine activity by the Eastern Sea Frontier organization and some of it may be from the North Atlantic Air Ferry operation. In any case it is a choice lot of one-of-a-kind historical memorabilia from a little-known but important theater of WWII. The lot includes: - Photo of the layout of the Eastern Sea Frontier HQ control room with submarine tracking, convoy and routing, anti-submarine wing and other areas indicated. About 9" x 7". - Photo of a map of Newfoundland hanging on a wall - behind curtains - with routes drawn in. About 7.5" x 10". - Photo of a map of the Atlantic ocean off Newfoundland with various dots drawn in, some of which are clearly aircraft. About 8" x 10". - Photo of a woman with a log book. 8" x 10". - (4) page invitation dated 1942 to a party for all officers who have served or stopped in Newfoundland and their spouses. - (6) telegrams inviting officers to a "Newfie" party, dated 1942. - (2) classic WWII mimeograph cartoons, 8.5" x 11". Good condition as shown. Typical wear and tanning. Displays very well. A rare part of WWII and an awesome addition to any collection. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed the way it deserves to be. I always combine shipping.
